The heart of Taos in the heart of Taos
Located on the historic Plaza in the heart of Taos, New Mexico, The Alley Cantina is housed in Taos' oldest building, with a rich history dating back over 400 years. Originally built as an outpost by the Pueblo Indians, the building was partially destroyed and rebuilt by the Spanish. The main room was added in the last 45 years, making this now favored local watering hole a centuries-old project!
Today, The Alley Cantina is home to a Southwest menu second to none, with live music and drink specials...and they are open 365 days a year. Frommer's Guide calls The Alley Cantina "The hot, late night spot in Taos," and The New York Times says: "If you're hankering for the real deal, head to the Alley Cantina."
Eat, drink, dance, play and be merry...
Dance to live blues and rock bands 'til 1 a.m. six nights a week, and early evening jazz on Sundays. Meet and greet on the shady patio, where locals (and their dogs!) relax and enjoy daily drink specials, great food and outstanding service, whether yours is a burger and fries, the Cantina's famous fish and chips, or an authentic Southwestern specialty. Then step inside for a game of pool, shuffleboard, pichenotte, or one of many available board games...it's all good fun at the Alley Cantina!
